Jhonathan Florez, in 2013, expressing his desire to qualify for the final of the World Wingsuit Championships in Tianmenshan, China. Having indeed qualified, the Colombian then went on to claim the overall title much to the pleasure of his fellow competitors. Jhonathan was an extremely motivated athlete at the very top of his sport. The previous year, in 2012, he had set world records for the longest duration wingsuit jump (9 minutes and 6 seconds), the greatest horizontal distance flown in a wingsuit (16.315 miles), the highest ever wingsuit jump and the greatest absolute distance ever flown (17.52 miles).
